All-America Selections is calling this jalapeno pepper a game changer. You can harvest up to 50 4-inch fruits per plant, and all at once! Perfect for canning, pickling or making stuffed and roasted peppers. Put them in your favorite soup or salsa. Because they can hold on the plant longer than most jalapenos, you can take that weekend trip and they will be there when you come home. 2500 to 6000 scovilles.

Peppers like it hot, especially hot peppers. Grow in a very warm area in your garden where they will get full sun and have some wind protection.

Ensure your soil is rich in phosphorus and calcium. You may want to add lime and compost to the bed first and let it settle in. Peppers like soil that is moist but well draining. Five gallon containers also work well, but require good drainage. In garden beds space plants 12-24" apart.

Some people like to pinch their peppers but we find that in our short growing area it is not a benefit. While peppers enjoy heat, provide some shade in extreme heat.

    WHY WE GROW IT:

    • Prolific producer

    • Large fruit

Peppers can be picked when green and firm but will sweeten as they ripen. Pick the time it tastes best for you. Pick often to encourage continued production. You may need to stake for some support if plant grows vigorously.

    WHY WE GROW IT:

    • Vigorous hot pepper producer in our growing region

    • Nice heat
