Butter tarts hold a special place in many hearts, especially bringing back memories with loved ones. For me, the tradition of making butter tarts with my Dad became a treasured memory. We used a box mix - neither of my parents are big bakers - but my grandmother was French Canadian and he had a love of butter tarts from his upbringing. The exact origin of butter tarts is unknown but it's widely believed to have originated in Canada in the late 1600s, possibly from French C
