Welcome To 2026 Growing Season!
First and foremost, a HUGE thank you to all our Fresh Food Enthusiasts who came out to our Holiday Pop-Up Sale! We had a blast connecting with you and getting up to date on what is happening in your lives. We are so glad you all enjoyed the baked goods, preserves and knitted artisan goods. 2026 was a bumpy start for Farmer Tracey. A Christmas visit to see grandkids in Ontario led to catching a nasty super bug going around. 3 weeks later and still getting back to normal,

Why I Bake at Christmas
As I am spending a rainy west coast Friday baking Christmas shortbread and listening to a stream of Christmas songs, I find my mind softly drifting to my memories of Christmases past. I'm sure like you, there are good memories and some not so good but I hope you are like me and the good ones shine through and you smile. My memories around shortbread are sweet. Over the years I perfected MY shortbread recipe which originated from a bar recipe and evolved based on comments fr

Butter Tarts: Canadian Nostalgia and Memories With My Dad

Your cake will be ready for pick up at the farm between December 5th and December 13th or you can get it when you visit our Holiday Pop-Up Farm Stand. Holida

Preserving Local Organic Produce
Being away this summer, we missed picking up (or growing) the amazing produce grown in the Cowichan Valley. We were able to grab organic beets and organic red onions from our friends at Rootbound Farms so Farmer Tracey has canned pickled beets and red onions for our Holiday Pop-Up Farm Stand. Can't wait until then? You can message us below and order some now. NOTE: The pickled red onions need until mid-November to 'age'.

We're Back!
Farmer Don and I had an amazing year driving across Canada! We took "the road less travelled" most of the way and got to experience so much of what rural life in Canada is all about. While we enjoyed every one of the 25,000+ km we travelled, it also felt great to be back on the farm and we are re-energized to start the 2026 season! We spent over 400 hours just in the truck together (with our 3 dogs of course!) and it gave us time to talk about the future of the farm. You
