Unique flavour and shape. Mad hatter is a unique pepper in flavour and shape. The mild fruit has a delicate floral scent, with a rich flavour that intensifies and sweetens as it matures. Novel three-sided shape peppers are produced on vigorous, bushy, 48” plants, with up to 40-50 peppers on each plant. AAS winner. Averages 500 SHU.

Peppers like a warm, shielded area in your garden where they will get full sun and have some wind protection.

Ensure your soil is rich in phosphorus and calcium. You may want to add lime and compost to the bed first and let it settle in. Peppers like soil that is moist but well draining. Five gallon containers also work well, but require good drainage. In garden beds space plants 12-24" apart. Stake where needed.

Some people like to pinch their peppers but we find that in our short growing area it is not a benefit. While peppers enjoy heat, provide some shade in extreme heat.

Peppers can be picked when green and firm but will sweeten as they ripen. Pick the time it tastes best for you. Pick often to encourage continued production. You may need to stake for some support if plant grows vigorously.
