Known as one of the most flavourful tomatoes, Brandywine is an heirloom tomato with a a strong and distinctively spicy flavour. The large fruits, often over 1 lb., have a deep pink skin and smooth red flesh. The medium-tall, potato-leaf plant is best trellised, staked or caged. We grow ours using seeds from the 'Quisenberry' strain, considered one of the best.
Brandywine is a bit of a prima donna. She does take time to grow and like most large tomatoes prefers a sunny, large location and is prone to cracking so water at base vs. overhead and keep watering as consistent as possible.
